Children love to imitate adults, and this is no secret. For some time they copy behavior, habits, manners, taste preferences.
So, one day the child may ask for coffee. What should parents do in such a situation?
Scientists conducted research 10 years ago, which revealed that more than 70% of children consume caffeine every day, for example, in soda and other drinks and products.
The results of the research were published in the journal Pediatrics.
But there is no scientific data on what dose of caffeine is considered safe for children.
Coffee for children
Experts do not recommend children under 12 to drink coffee or caffeine. After 12 years, no more than one cup or 100 milligrams of caffeine per day is allowed.
Consequences
At the same time, caffeine addiction in children can cause headaches and difficulty concentrating, but when they give up coffee, relief comes immediately.
At the same time, irritability and other symptoms cannot be ruled out.
However, excessive caffeine consumption can cause serious consequences.
At a minimum, your heart rate may increase, your blood pressure may rise, you may experience anxiety, sleep disturbances, and acid reflux.
Given that there is not much data on the effects of caffeine on children, scientists do not rule out that, in general, unpredictable consequences may arise, even life-threatening ones.
Earlier we talked about why it is more difficult to raise modern children.
