A child who jokes, has fun and laughs is a “phenomenon”, if one can say so, simply wonderful.

But it also happens that the child has already crossed the 10-year mark, and he still does not understand jokes.

You can understand that something went wrong if everyone around you laughs at the joker, and your child stands there and does not understand the reason for the laughter. Another sign is when the child himself makes unfunny jokes.

Because of this, some (not all) children may feel uncomfortable and unable to maintain normal communication with their peers.

What to do? First of all, stop panicking.

Your son or daughter will immediately “count” your concerns, and as a result, they will become even more withdrawn.

It is likely that the child has developed exactly this sense of humor, incomprehensible to those around him.

Therefore, it would be a mistake to pull your child back, get irritated by an incomprehensible joke he made, or get angry because he didn’t react to a joke made in a group.

You can't pretend that you find it funny - mom and dad might actually laugh at home, but classmates might not, which could make the child think that he is being ignored.

Also prohibited are various nicknames such as “The Never-Laughing Princess” and others.

Instead, voice that he has an interesting sense of humor. You can explain the meaning of the joke and thus develop a sense of humor.
