If there is a mess in the child's room, then parents usually begin to correct the situation themselves.
However, you shouldn’t do your child’s work for him: the child should put all his toys and other personal things back in place himself.
And there is a way to get the child to clean up the mess.
It is enough to use a psychological trick called “I bet…”
The essence of the method
When a parent sees toys scattered around the child's room, they should say to the child, "I bet you can't put all the things back in their place?!"
The kid will certainly accept this “challenge” and, wanting to prove to mom or dad his ability to clean up, will return the room to cleanliness, spaciousness and comfort.
And most likely, a motivated child will do it quickly and without complaint.
If your child has actually cleaned up his room, be sure to praise him and admit your “defeat”: “I was wrong! You really can put your toys back in their places!”
After this, it’s worth trying another trick and saying: “I’m just not sure if you can handle it next time… We’ll find out later.”
