When treating a runny nose, it is important to realize that nothing affects the condition of the respiratory tract as much as the air that passes through it.
Therefore, if a child (or even an adult) has a runny nose, try to keep the air temperature in the room in the range of +18.. +21 degrees.
Air humidity is also important. The optimal value is 60-70%.
The easiest way to ensure the necessary level of humidity is to ventilate the room. Humidifiers and air purifiers will also come in handy.
Don't forget to remove mucus. If your child is too young to blow his nose, use an aspirator to suck out the mucus.
In addition, it is worth regularly irrigating the nasal mucosa with water-salt solutions - this promotes the outflow of mucus and the removal of infectious agents.
Please note: solutions are isotonic and hypertonic. The latter should be used only as prescribed by a doctor.
Another simple action that will help cope with a runny nose is wet cleaning, which should be done at least once a day, and preferably twice.
If there is no temperature and the baby's general health is normal, this means that there are no contraindications to walks. Be prepared for snot to flow outside, which is absolutely normal.
Finally, the baby should be put to the breast more often. If the baby is bottle-fed, give him water and other drinks.
And, of course, do not forget about a consultation with a doctor, during which the doctor will be able to prescribe the appropriate treatment.
