You apply shampoo to the crown of your head, whip up a rich lather and are proud of how shiny your hair is after washing.
But after a month, the ends start to split, dandruff appears at the roots, and the volume disappears after just a couple of hours. Sound familiar?
The culprit is the mistakes that 90% of people make when they trust advertising. The first and most critical one is using too hot water.

It opens the hair cuticles, washing out natural oils, and makes them dry as straw. The second fatal mistake: applying shampoo directly to the scalp.
The concentrated product dries it out, causing itching, peeling and even hair loss. How to wash your hair correctly? Start with the water temperature - it should be slightly warm, comfortable for the face.
Dilute the shampoo in your palms with a little water to dilute the concentration, and lather at the roots, massaging with your fingertips, not your nails.
Rinse your hair, then apply conditioner ONLY to the lengths, avoiding the roots - otherwise the scalp will become greasy. Never rub your hair with a towel - this damages the cuticle.
Instead, wrap them in a cotton cloth for 5-7 minutes to absorb excess moisture. Another secret: after washing, rinse your hair with cool water.
This will close the scales, adding shine, and prolong the freshness of the styling. After 2 weeks of such experiments, you will notice that the hair has stopped tangling, and the ends no longer resemble a broom.
And yes, shampoo labeled “for volume” most often contains sulfates (SLS, SLES), which destroy the skin’s lipid barrier.
Check the ingredients - if you see these ingredients, replace the product with a mild shampoo with natural surfactants (for example, coco glucoside).
And for emergency restoration, try a mask of avocado and coconut oil: mash the pulp, mix with a spoonful of oil and apply to hair for 30 minutes.
The result will be better than after salon keratin treatment.
