Do you think all beets are the same? It turns out that their color is not just a pigment, but the key to the anti-aging effect.

You can find purple, burgundy and even golden beets on store shelves.

But only one of them contains a unique substance that slows down aging at the cellular level.

We are talking about golden beets. Their bright yellow color is the result of a high content of betalains, which are 10 times more powerful than their burgundy counterparts. These compounds not only neutralize free radicals, but also restore damaged DNA.

Why golden beetroot? Unlike regular beets, it contains almost no sugar, but it does contain curcumin-like substances that block inflammation.

Regular consumption of such beets reduces wrinkles, strengthens blood vessels and even prevents the appearance of gray hair.

Try adding grated raw beetroot to salads - its taste is milder and its benefits are higher. If you cook it, steam it: 70% of betalains are lost during boiling.

What about purple beets? They are also useful, but they work differently. Their pigments, anthocyanins, improve vision and brain activity, but do not affect collagen synthesis.

Golden beet stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid, which keeps the skin elastic. Life hack: mix golden beet juice with coconut oil and apply to your face as a mask. After a month, your pores will shrink and your skin tone will even out.

But where to find it? Golden beetroot is still a rarity in supermarkets, but it can be grown in the country or bought in eco-shops.

Don't confuse it with yellow carrots - beets have a characteristic sweetish taste. And remember: even "rejuvenating" beets won't work if you eat them with mayonnaise or sugar.

Combine with greens, nuts and flaxseed oil - the effect will appear many times faster.
