For men with prostatitis, going to the bathhouse can result in serious health problems.
Andrologist and urologist Bator Gonchikov warned about this.
The expert listed the male diseases for which visiting a bathhouse is contraindicated in a conversation with the Izvestia publication.

For what diseases men should not go to the bathhouse
Firstly, you should not visit the bathhouse if you have infectious diseases of the genitourinary system.
Secondly, a sauna is contraindicated during exacerbation of prostatitis. High temperatures can increase inflammation.
Thirdly, going to the bathhouse can worsen the course of epididymitis – inflammation of the epididymis.
The inflammation may worsen, causing acute pain and swelling of the scrotum, the doctor warned.
Fourthly, a bath can be harmful in case of varicocele – pathological dilation of the veins of the testicle.
According to the specialist, this is a fairly common disease.
Gonchikov also recommended avoiding visiting the bathhouse if you have orchitis (inflammation of the testicle due to infection) and hydrocele (accumulation of fluid in the testicular membrane).
In case of any problems with the genitourinary system, the question of whether it is permissible to visit a bathhouse should be decided after consultation with a urologist, the doctor added.
