It turns out that there is something available to all people that can significantly slow down the aging process.

We are talking about omega-3. The main thing is to take the supplement daily.

This was reported by Swiss scientists who conducted the corresponding study.

It showed that healthy older adults who took a gram of omega-3 every day for three years had three months less aging than other subjects.

The essence of experience

In total, almost 800 people (all over 70 years old) took part in the experiment.

Scientists measured biological age using the epigenetic clock.

This mechanism monitors changes in DNA methylation.

Thanks to such watches, you can find out how much older or younger a person’s body is than its actual age.

The volunteers were divided into 4 groups:

– the first group took omega-3;
– the second – took 2000 IU of vitamin D;
– the third – they did sports for half an hour three times a week;
– the fourth – those who followed the recommendations for the three previous groups.

Results

Scientists have found that people who took omega-3s experienced slower aging and became biologically “younger” by 3 months.

Those who took additional vitamin D and exercised had an even greater effect, “rejuvenating” themselves for up to 4 months.

Other positive effects of omega-3 have also been identified.

Thus, as scientists noted, elderly people who took the supplement began to fall 10% less often and “catch” infectious diseases 13% less often.

And the combination of omaga-3 with vitamin D and exercise reduced the risk of pre-senile dementia by 39% and the likelihood of cancer by 61%.
