Doctors never tire of reminding us of the health risks posed by alcohol abuse.

Many people forget that alcohol is a poison, so a seemingly innocent party can lead to irreparable consequences.

Russian cardiologist Yulia Fadyukhina told NEWS.ru what dose of alcohol is considered lethal for a person.

The doctor draws attention to the so-called average lethal amount of alcohol.

From a medical point of view, this is 7-8 grams of alcohol per kilogram of human body weight.

This means that when consuming 500 ml of ethanol, a person weighing 64-65 kg exposes himself to mortal danger.

To help understand, doctor Fedyukhina translated this figure into the most common alcoholic drinks.

If we are talking about vodka, then the lethal dose for a person is 1.2 liters.

In the case of beer, the fatal danger occurs when drinking 12 liters of beer at one time.

Something irreparable can happen if you drink 1.2 liters of whiskey, 1.1 liters of rum or the same amount of absinthe in one go.

Wine and champagne can also cause death if you drink 4 liters.

If converted to ppm, the lethal concentration of alcohol in the blood is 4-6 ppm.
