Hypothermia is a condition of the body when a person's body loses more heat than it can produce.
Also, the general body temperature drops below 35 degrees.
Most often, hypothermia occurs when a person in light clothing is exposed to wind for a long period of time.
This condition can also develop if a person is in a poorly heated room for a long time.
What other symptoms does hypothermia have?
You should call an ambulance immediately if you think your body temperature has dropped below 35 degrees.
Here are some symptoms of hypothermia.
- Strong shivering. This is the first reaction to the cold, but if the shivering subsequently stops, then this is a bad sign.
- Changes in speech. The tongue becomes unresponsive and speech becomes slurred.
- Breathing becomes slow - the pulse also slows down.
- Clumsiness. Fingers bend poorly, reaction speed decreases and coordination of movement is impaired.
