Alcoholism is a serious disease.
At the same time, the patient tends to deny the problem, he is sure that he can stop at any moment. But, as a result, the patient's loved ones are the first to seek help.
But how can you tell if you are addicted to alcohol?
Psychiatrist and narcologist Lev Manuilov answered this question in a conversation with representatives of the Medic Forum .
As the specialist noted, it is the relatives who first notice the problem when a person’s drinking continues for several days, he gets over a hangover, becomes more aggressive, nervous and irritable.
In addition, the addict may develop social problems.
How do you know when it's time to stop and seek help on your own? You need to answer the following questions:
- Have your loved ones asked you to stop drinking alcohol?
- Were you ashamed of the actions you took while drunk?
- Did you feel like having a hangover cure in the morning?
If the answers are positive, then you should think about it.
