Experts from the United States conducted a study and found that it is possible to reduce the risk of dementia and prolong life by choosing the right diet.
An experiment was conducted.
One and a half thousand people took part in it. The average age of the volunteers was 69.7 years.
It turned out that people who followed healthy eating habits were less likely to experience problems.
In addition, American scientists added that healthy eating reduced the risk of death and slowed down the process of biological aging.
The link between diet and aging was stronger among those who smoked than among men and women who had never smoked in their lives.
But, as the doctors noted at the end of their work, the best results were seen in those who did not indulge in bad habits, were married, had a lower body mass index and were more active.
