A group of scientists from Spain recommended that pregnant women spend more time listening to music and singing in the last weeks.
They said it had a positive effect on the baby's condition in the womb.
Research has shown that this was associated with improved neural encoding of speech sounds in children.
The corresponding findings were published in Developmental Science .
Doctors noted that if a woman listens to music every day during the last trimester, the child may begin to master the language earlier and will process speech more easily and quickly.
But the benefits don't end there.
Listening to high-quality structured music has a positive effect on a child’s assimilation of new information.
This is manifested in the acquisition of reading skills and foreign languages.
