How to Choose Bananas in the Store? Check if You're Doing It Right

It happens that in stores we buy, to put it mildly, not very high-quality bananas.

How to avoid unnecessary waste of money on such products? No one will let you try them.

Pay attention to the appearance. They should look healthy, fresh, and clean.

Look at the color: it should be bright, matte, uniform. Either yellow, or lemon-yellow, or yellow-green.

You can also take greenish bananas (unripe), but only if you plan to store them for a certain period of time.

However, you shouldn’t eat them immediately after purchasing them – the excessive starch content will have a negative effect on your stomach, and the taste isn’t all that great.

Noticed dark spots on the skin? Know: the fruit is overripe. You can eat it, but you won’t be able to store it for long.

Do not buy bananas if the peel has a grey tint. This means they have been frozen.

The skin of the fruit should be whole, without cracks. If the stalk is torn off, do not buy.

Quality bananas should have a pleasant, not too intense smell. If the aroma is pronounced, you know the fruit is overripe.
