Canned foods have a long shelf life.

But if the packaging has already been opened, the situation immediately changes.

Therefore, if you don’t want an open can of fish to disappear too quickly, you need to take some measures.

First, you should place the fish in a ceramic or glass container that closes tightly.

In this case, there will be less contact with air, which means that the product will be less susceptible to oxidation.

Then the container should be placed in the refrigerator. The product can be stored in this state for up to two days.

After this, the canned food will have to be thrown away, otherwise you can seriously harm your health if you eat fish that has expired.

It is also worth noting that open canned fish should not be stored outside the refrigerator for more than three hours. The presence of oil or tomato sauce will not protect the product from microbes.

Earlier we told you why you shouldn’t pour oil from canned food into the toilet or sink.
