The season of cold soups is coming, and beets are an essential component of this dish.
However, it is not enough to prepare cold beetroot soup – after the dish is on the table, the hostess will have to spend another good half hour cleaning the kitchen.
The reason is beet juice, which coats the cutting board, leaves stains on the countertop or stains plastic utensils.
The caustic liquid with a rich color literally eats into the surface, and no detergent will remove it from there.
Luckily, there is one clever trick that we will share with you today.
The marks left by beets can be easily removed with the most common sunflower oil, which is probably in stock in every kitchen.
The main thing is to act quickly. As soon as you have used, for example, a grater to shred beets, immediately rinse it under running water, and then go over the surface with a cotton pad soaked in vegetable fat.
The same should be done with the rest of the kitchen utensils and dishes.
What’s especially nice is that this life hack can also be used to tidy up the skin on your hands.
