Housewives store flour, cereals and other groceries in the most accessible place, which is most convenient to reach while standing at the work surface.

The practical benefits of this solution are not even discussed. But storing large supplies of food here is not quite right, and here's why.

The reason is bugs and worms that can end up in one of the bags and then spread throughout all the supplies. That's why you need to store flour supplies separately.

There are several reasons for this. The first is to prevent pests from appearing, as has already been said.

The second is the shelf life of food products, which can be extended, or vice versa.

Where to store flour supplies

Definitely not in the cupboard with the rest of the cereals and pasta.

It is best to pour the flour into a glass container with a tightly closing lid. If such containers are available and free, then, having filled them with flour, put them in a room with a temperature of 5-18 degrees Celsius.

A storage room on an insulated and glazed balcony would be suitable, but the refrigerator is considered the ideal place to store large stocks of flour.

Here, supplies will be kept cool, dark, and in conditions of constant humidity, which will double the shelf life. Mold and pests will definitely not appear here.

To keep flour in the refrigerator in its original packaging, you will have to put it in several thick plastic bags. The packaging must remain intact.
