Of all the available and effective means for cleaning a washing machine from scale and other foreign deposits, citric acid is.

It is cheaper than many special chemical products, but this does not mean that by spinning the drum idly you can get rid of limescale.

Here's how to do it right. 5-step instructions.

Step 1

You need to calculate the correct amount of citric acid. If the packet is packaged in 20 grams, and the machine holds 3-4 kg of laundry, then you will need about 3 such packets (60 g). If the powder is stored in bulk, then you will need 2-3 tablespoons. On average, to calculate the amount of citric acid, take 15-20 g of acid per kilogram of load.

Step 2

Cleaning from limestone is carried out only in vain, even if the fabric is not damaged by contact with an acidic environment.

Step 3

The mode with heating water to 60 degrees is suitable if the layer of plaque is thin. If you do not remember when you cleaned the equipment, then feel free to choose 90 degrees.

Step 4

Citric acid is poured into the powder tray and into the required compartment so that it is not washed away in the soaking mode - it is not effective in cold water. After the citric acid is washed away and the water in the drum heats up, you should pause the washing mode and wait about an hour, then continue the idle washing mode.

Step 5

After cleaning, do not forget to wipe the interior cavity and the rubber seal, in case there are pieces of chipped limestone inside.
