The advantages of this method are simplicity, efficiency and safety.

To quickly remove ice from your porch steps and walkways, mix two simple ingredients.

You don't have to spend a lot of effort to make the area safer. Salt is considered a popular method.

But experienced gardeners do not recommend sodium chloride to combat ice cover. The problem is that salt works when the temperature is close to zero.

In addition, after the snow melts, it goes into the soil, which has a negative effect on vegetation. Instead of green grass, a sandy bald spot may form.

There is a method that is no less effective, but leaves fewer negative consequences. To prepare the working composition, mix 1 tbsp. of alcohol with 1 tsp. of dishwashing detergent. The composition is diluted with 2 liters of hot water and the frozen areas are treated.

The liquid will melt the ice. Then all that remains is to scrape off the ice and you can safely go down the stairs or walk along the paths.
