Healthy "tofniks": how to make an alternative to regular syrniki in 5 minutes

More useful, do not contain any products of animal origin, the same consistency and subtle banana flavor. These are exactly what "tofniks" or simply syrniki are, but only made from vegetable cheese.

A great alternative if you are on a low calorie diet or have cardiovascular problems.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova, a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to cook.

In any case, this version of syrniki is definitely better than their traditional version made from cottage cheese.

What ingredients will you need:

• tofu - 300 grams;
• two teaspoons of lemon juice (to make the consistency more like cottage cheese);
• one ripe banana;
• flour - 1 tablespoon;
• if desired, you can add a couple of teaspoons of sugar, but the cheesecakes will still be sweet due to the banana.

Cooking

Place the tofu in a bowl and add the above amount of lemon juice and one ripe banana.

Next, you need to beat all of this with an immersion blender, and if you don’t have one, then mash it with a regular fork (if you’re not too afraid of lumps).

Then add flour and sugar if desired, mix everything thoroughly.

Generously dust the board with flour, and then form balls from the previously obtained mass, which you need to roll in flour, making flat cakes from them.

Heat a frying pan, having previously greased it with vegetable oil, and you can gradually fry the tofniks until golden brown.

Serve the finished dish with chocolate/peanut butter or jam with honey. The taste and consistency of tofniki are no different from the traditional version, except for the pronounced taste of banana (if you don’t like it, just add less).

A few words about tofu

This cheese is sold in a vacuum package, where there is a little water to prevent it from drying out, so always drain this water before cooking.

Also remember that tofu has a specific smell, but it is absent in the finished dish.
