The yellow gooseberry variety 'Millennium' has been named the heaviest in the world.

The man who grew it is called Graham Watson. He is from the UK – here in Egton Bridge, on August 6, 2019, a gooseberry exhibition was held, where the “record holder” was presented.

Its weight was 64.83 grams.

Initially, the traditional avoirdupois system was used to value gooseberries, which recorded a weight of 36 drams plus 12.5 grains.

Converted into pennyweights, this was equal to 64.6 grams.

But even these values were enough to break the previous record set by gooseberries – it was recorded on August 21, 2013, and then the fruit weighed 64.49 grams.

Secondary measurements on digital scales were nevertheless carried out and allowed us to obtain more accurate readings.

They made Graham champion at the Egton Bridge Gooseberry Show - for the tenth time, by the way.

Earlier we reported on the record set by Allan Ganz .
