Constant barking of a dog can be very annoying to the owner, his family members and strangers.

Of course, in such a situation, every person will want to rid their pet of this unpleasant habit.

But first, we need to find out what exactly caused this behavior of our four-legged friend.

Why does a dog bark often?

Perhaps the pet is overzealous in protecting its owner. If the dog barks at every passerby, then this is most likely the reason.

It is possible that the four-legged friend is simply jealous of his owner towards other people. The dog does not like that the owner often communicates with someone else.

Perhaps the dog is releasing pent-up energy.

Or it may be that the animal wants to get something tasty from a person.

There is also this option: the dog often barks because of health problems (perhaps the pet is in pain or is unwell) or because of fear.

How to Stop a Dog from Constantly Barking

The owner of a dog that constantly barks must begin to follow three simple rules:

  • take your pet to the veterinarian periodically;
  • train a dog;
  • React correctly to an animal's barking.

The first is necessary to detect health problems in time and prevent the development of illnesses. As already mentioned above, a dog can bark because of pain.

Training is necessary so that the dog learns to obey and respond to the command “Quiet!”

By the way, during training the dog will show a high level of activity: then the hyperactive animal will definitely not start howling out of boredom.

And if the dog does start barking, the owner should act as follows: do not give in to the animal (if the dog asks for another “treat”) and begin to calm the four-legged friend (if he started barking out of fear).

Earlier, experts told which command to teach a dog – “no” or “no”.
