The cat took a dislike to the child: why did this happen – 3 possible reasons

In some families, pets have an aversion to children.

Cats can also show a negative reaction to the approach of a baby.

Why do these calm and affectionate animals suddenly start to treat a child living in the house badly? There are three possible explanations.

The child once scared or offended the cat

Some children perceive four-legged friends as “soft toys”.

And it’s good if the baby only strokes, hugs and cuddles the cat.

It is possible that at one time the child suddenly threw the kitten onto the bed or teased it for a long time.

The baby hardly did this in the presence of his parents, so the adults probably don’t know about what happened. But the cat remembered the unpleasant situation for a long time.

The child often makes noise

A cat may dislike a baby even if the baby has never offended him.

This can happen if the child exhibits behavior that the pet does not like.

So, an animal that loves silence is unlikely to treat a noisy baby well.

The child moves abruptly

Many children are restless: some of them find it difficult to sit still.

And cats are afraid of and don’t really like overly active people who move abruptly.

Earlier we talked about why cats meow and how to react to it in different situations.
