Often the owners blame the cat for this, attributing to it a sense of revenge, a bad character and other qualities uncharacteristic of animals. In fact, only humans are to blame for this.
It should be understood that a cat needs certain conditions to go to the toilet. And a person must provide her with these conditions. But often makes mistakes.
Mistake number one: the wrong toilet
Modern pet stores offer a huge number of trays, which are often created for owners. For example, a tray with a grid.
It allows owners to save themselves from having to clean up granules that spill out during burying. But cats are not used to going to the toilet on the grate.
Often splashes get on their paws, and cats are very clean animals. Also, cats are uncomfortable in trays with a lid. The owner likes that the cat toilet looks decent, but the pet inside is cramped, stuffy and uncomfortable. But in the corner of the living room or on the owner's bed is much more comfortable.
Mistake two: wrong place
In order not to spoil the interior, people put the tray, for example, in the hallway. This is a passage room, so the tray will not spoil the interior too much.
But think about it, would you be able to carry out certain procedures yourself if your toilet was in the hallway? And what if the front door opened with a bang at the most crucial moment and joyfully screaming children burst in? After such an "adventure" the cat is unlikely to go to the litter box in the hallway again. After all, there are many safer places in the apartment.
Mistake number three: one tray for everyone
If you have several cats, each one needs a separate litter box. And it's not just that cats have a good sense of smell and are quite squeamish.
The problem is that animals can guard their toilet. The owner won't even notice. For example, a cat lies a meter away from the litter box, stretched out on the carpet or sits in a chair. So what? And for another cat, this is a signal: no way out. And he has to look for another place for his natural needs.
Avoid these mistakes, remembering that cats are special animals. And these features must be taken into account in the content. Then the problem of ignoring the litter box will be solved.
