If we recall the words of Professor F. F. Preobrazhensky that “no one should be beaten, and a person or an animal can only be influenced by suggestion,” then the question arises: what to do with dogs: punish or educate?
The results of your choice determine how happy and obedient your pet will grow up to be.
For this case, experienced dog breeders have their own rules. Here are some of them.
Rule number one
The first thing a person who decides to buy a puppy should remember is that the dog must be loved. For this, pets forgive everything, even the difficulties of training. Then you will be able to raise the dog the way you want it to be.
Rule two
Scolding and punishing for domestic mischief is a mistake. The carrot and stick method does not work in this case. The dog simply will not understand why it was "hit" and puppy mischief will be repeated, despite the owner's scolding. You can influence the culprit with intonation and solely on the basis of real events, and not those that took place in the past.
Rule three
There is no need to anger the dog and bring it to aggression. After sorting out the relationship with the pet, one day it will turn out that living with it under the same roof will be uncomfortable. Also, you cannot influence the dog by causing fear. At such moments, the animal may simply begin to defend itself.
Rule number four
They say that dogs should not be spoiled. In fact, a dog perceives a person as the owner until the moment when it sees him as a rival or an enemy. After that, the dog will definitely stop obeying the owner.
Rule number five
Dogs do not take revenge on their owners when they chew their shoes or start pooping on the carpet. This is a reaction to stress and other health problems that the owner is not yet aware of.
Rule six
It is important to train the dog to stay without the owner. In this regard, various habits or rituals for the animal help. You can try to play with the dog before leaving, take it for a walk or amuse it in some other way. After this, the animal will develop a reflex, you need to act in exactly the same way after returning home.
