It is believed that a cat must eat grass when it walks in nature. But you can also buy fresh grass for your pet in a pet store.
People who often take their pets for a walk know very well that cats cannot resist: they constantly eat grass that grows somewhere in the country.
It is important to note that cats most often need grass in the spring, and if there is no natural delicacy anywhere, the cat will definitely replace it with something, for example, house plants, which the owner, of course, will not be very happy about.
A cat will do the same with a broom: if the owner does not look after the pet, then in about a couple of weeks there will be nothing left of the cleaning item.
In addition, not all house plants are good for cats. Some produce poison that can actually harm your pet.
Therefore, before the beginning of spring, you should make sure that your cat has at least some grass freely available. It can also be planted at home, as a rule, it grows quickly.
Of course, grass has a positive effect on the functioning of the animal's gastrointestinal tract. Even if the cat does not have thick fur, some of it still gets into the pet's stomach when it starts licking itself.
But when a cat eats grass, it cleans out its esophagus and stomach, after which it can burp up fur and feel better.
In addition, the herb has a laxative effect, it improves bowel function, which helps the cat go to the toilet better.
But if a cat, on the contrary, suffers from diarrhea, then, as a rule, it begins to eat narrow-leaved plants, which help it to strengthen the intestines and get rid of discomfort.
If a cat is not feeling well, it may also start eating grass, as it will rid the animal's body of toxins and waste. However, in reality, this is just a theory.
Some experts also believe that cats simply find grass very tasty, and therefore they are not averse to eating it if they have the opportunity.
