Scientists have proven that loneliness in certain conditions can be beneficial to health. We are talking about situations when you need to restore strength and energy.
But this does not mean that you need to go into seclusion and show off in society with a sour expression.
Everything that Oregon State University researchers managed to find out was published in the scientific publication PLOS One.
If loneliness can be called moderate, then there is no better way to restore energy.
As part of the research, a survey was conducted among 900 US residents to test one theory.
For some time it was believed that constant contact with others allows a person to feel his belonging to the whole and his necessity.
But at the same time, there is a depletion of energy, which could be restored in solitude.
Complete isolation from society has been proven to lead to the same lack of energy.
Therefore, the best way to recharge is moderate solitude.
This could be visiting a cafe, going on a trip while listening to music, reading in a park, or other types of solitude that don't involve being a hermit.
Scientists believe that this information may be equally useful for both introverts and extroverts.
