A person who has reached his seventh decade should not lead a secluded life.

It is advisable to maintain at least minimal activity.

But you shouldn't take on an unbearable burden either.

It is necessary to correctly calculate the forces. And then the elderly person will be completely satisfied with his life.

So, what shouldn't you do after 60?

Lead a sedentary lifestyle

Retirement is done. Career is over. No more waking up at 6am and going to work.

In such a situation, an elderly person can simply "lock himself" in his apartment. He may not even have to go to the store: it is possible that someone else will bring the purchases.

Warning: this lifestyle is very dangerous! Such a serious problem as muscle atrophy may make itself known. Other undesirable consequences are not excluded.

Stay active after 60! Get into the habit of taking leisurely walks every day. If possible, do some light exercise.

Get an active dog

Many older people have a desire to have a four-legged friend.

And this is quite understandable: a dog relieves the feeling of loneliness and forces a person to become more active.

But it is better to choose representatives of breeds suitable for older people. Ideal options: pug and lapdog.

But you shouldn’t get an active dog: an elderly person is unlikely to be able to provide such a pet with proper care and create opportunities for it to release accumulated energy.

Get used to routine

A common mistake older people make is getting used to a certain schedule. The same actions are performed every day.

Yes, it is very convenient: it creates a feeling of stability, calm and security.

But don't forget that routine doesn't help train your brain.

Want to maintain your cognitive abilities? Go on trips from time to time, don't refuse meetings, come up with small entertainments for yourself, don't be afraid to break the schedule.

And also engage in some intellectual activity. For example, study a foreign language.
