Few people know that some of our favorite dishes were invented completely by accident.
We tell you about five dishes whose appearance is due to His Majesty Chance.
First, the Olivier salad. Its creator, restaurateur Lucien Olivier, wanted to impress his guests by serving them an exquisite appetizer.
He carefully laid out the fillets of hazel grouse and partridge, crayfish necks, sliced tongue and veal, garnished it all with vegetables and served with Provencal sauce.
However, to Olivier's displeasure, the guests mixed the ingredients with the sauce. This is how the famous salad appeared.
Also, completely by accident, such delicacies as blue cheese, yogurt, chocolate chip cookies and raisin buns appeared.
