Sometimes, without even realizing it, a person communicates his thoughts and feelings without words. It is enough to just look at how he moves or how his facial expression changes.
A gesture is an unconscious action that moves the body or a separate part of it. It gives meaning to speech.
Most people don't pay attention to how their body moves when they talk.
If the interlocutor does not want to tell the truth, then he controls his movements. It is enough to know the language of body movements to understand whether the truth or lie sounds. You can deceive with words, but what the body says is impossible to hide.
In order not to show your true attitude towards your interlocutor, you need to control your gestures and not twirl objects in your hands.
The most famous gestures include:
1. A straight and erect gait – a person believes in his own strength.
2. Biting cuticles and nails – lack of confidence.
3. Moving your head down or up may mean that your opponent has no desire to continue the conversation.
4. Hands hidden in clothes – you can’t expect the truth.
5. Slowly shaking your head symbolizes genuine interest and you are getting into the conversation.
6. Arms folded across the chest is a closed posture that shows the interlocutor’s desire to protect himself or defend himself.
7. Twirl objects nearby – an attempt to get rid of an unpleasant conversation, to switch attention.
8. Touching parts of the face – fatigue and tiredness.
9. A relaxed and free posture indicates that the person is disposed to dialogue.
10. If your opponent shakes your hand, it is a sign of respect.
From time to time, some gestures change their meaning depending on the mood. They are the ones that enhance the emotionality of the delivery of words.
If the interlocutor tries to cover his mouth with his hand, then we can conclude that he wants to hide the truth.
If there is mistrust in communication, then there is a desire to cover the nose. By rubbing the eyelid, a person can show how unpleasant it is for him to hear the information. Lack of faith in words will be demonstrated by touching the ear. Thoughtfulness can be indicated by rubbing the lower part of the face.
A person may behave ambiguously at this moment. Someone freezes in place and cannot make a single movement, while someone, on the contrary, begins to sway, fuss, rub their neck, nose. Someone, trying to gain trust, takes the hand, touches the shoulder.
As for facial expressions, the deceiver hides his gaze or looks suspiciously persistently into the eyes, trying to impose his untruth.
Nervousness may manifest itself as a lack of movement in the corners of the eyes and an unnatural smile.
A conversationalist who maintains balanced eye contact inspires trust.
He nods his head, unconsciously moving closer. The smile is natural, the corners of his eyes emphasize the emotions present.
There are no sudden or chaotic movements or fuss.
To understand your interlocutor, it is enough to catch the discrepancy between the information you hear from him and his manner of behavior.
