Andrey Kashkarov told how to lift your mood

Let's imagine (simulate) a situation when the mood is "at zero". A person feels such an uncomfortable state very well.

Psychologist Andrey Kashkarov reflects on the fact that people with different characters get out of the situation in different ways: some want to hide in a “hole” - find a safe place, get support from loved ones or an authoritative person (friend), get “compensation” in the form of positive emotions of any available kind - from indulging in gastronomic delights to adultery, but in any case, stop the influence of destabilizing factors that provoke mood disorders.

There are few people in the world who get genuine pleasure from being in a bad mood. Although there are many who, in a conditional crisis of their mood, act significantly better and more effectively than in a state of rest.

These so-called “crisis action people” deliberately provoke crisis situations – for themselves and others, and others suffer more (from the effect of surprise, misunderstanding of the adequacy of actions, and overall unpreparedness).

That is why they strive in general, and especially in a "crisis", to move away from a person who is gushing with emotions that are subjectively perceived as negative. According to this logic: "in order not to think badly about people, it is better not to think about them at all."

This is another, albeit imperfect, method for raising one’s own mood: a person switches to other events, emotions, thereby moving away from the influence of “another” or even one’s own temporary bad mood.

So, you can lift your mood in the following ways:

Limit (isolate) the factor influencing mood – whoever or whatever it may be.

If another person spoils your mood, simple options are to leave the relationship or, on the contrary, to sort everything out quickly and decisively. Sometimes the second method helps better in family relationships and leads to mutual understanding, as well as "reconciling" closeness. And the mood immediately improves.

Receive compensation from other people and opportunities: gastronomic, moral (“talk it out” with a trusted person) or action – do something that increases self-esteem – from a parachute jump or a new acquaintance.

Improve your mood with new impressions and places. From a medical point of view and if there are no specific contraindications, we can recommend swimming, diving into an ice hole, a contrast shower, other health practices, including light jogging, or even playing chess.

The main thing is to get distracted. And get new positive emotions. Something suits everyone, and for some people it suits them all together.
