If you don't know where you're going, don't be surprised where you end up. So having a life plan is a must if you want to grow and develop.
Elena Katsyuba, psychologist and psychosomatologist, told us which strategies work in achieving goals.
Before you set any goal, you first need to answer the following questions.
Why do you need this and what values does this goal correspond to? What result do you ultimately want to achieve and is the game worth the candle?
If you clearly understand why you need it, the next step is to make a plan. Many people write their wishes, especially on New Year's Eve. But there is one big mistake.
It is necessary not only to formulate the thought “I want”, it is necessary to make a step-by-step plan. And most importantly, you must understand how and in what time frame to implement each of these points.
The points, in turn, should be broken down into small subtasks. Remember that you can only eat a big elephant by cutting it into small pieces.
Let's say you set yourself the goal of learning a foreign language, but you don't have an understanding of the exact deadline by which you need to do it. In this case, you don't need to throw all your energy and time at this task - you will quickly burn out.
It's better to set a goal to study 5-10 words every day than to study 3-4 hours a day. This way, you'll be more likely to finish.
The mistake that those who are going towards their goal make is to start comparing themselves to someone who has already achieved tangible results. This is demotivating. Always compare only yourself today with yourself yesterday, and you will see how much you have already achieved.
For example, a month ago I knew 100 words in English, and today I already know 200.
It is good to enlist the support of loved ones when achieving a goal. For example, you decided to lose weight, and your relatives know that you should not buy cakes and chocolates for home, so as not to provoke.
And it's even better if you find like-minded people who are going towards the same goal. For example, you decided to run in the mornings, and someone close to you, friends, neighbors joins you.
In a team, the chances of success increase many times over.
