Psychologist lists phrases prohibited when communicating with a child
An expert has listed phrases that can traumatize a child’s psyche.
Psychologist Olga Nesterenko noted that mothers often manipulate children, achieving their goals through blackmail and intimidation, and sometimes they establish total control over their children.
The specialist warned that excessive care leads to the development of infantilism in children, reports the portal " Doctor Peter ".
According to the psychologist, a sign of a "toxic" mother is the desire to compare the child with other children to the detriment of the first. The expert emphasized that such an approach prevents offspring from being more goal-oriented in adulthood.
Nesterenko added that a “toxic” mother is given away by phrases like: “You want a lot, but you’ll get little,” “You behave like your father!”, “But when I was your age…”
The psychologist emphasized that such expressions are often supplemented by insults directed at the child: “stupid,” “lazy,” “clumsy,” “clunky.”
