Now that the advantages have become more or less clear, we suggest you find out from which plants and from which brushes it is better to take tomatoes for seeds.
Varietal plant
Seeds should be taken only from varietal plants, not from hybrids.
Attempts to grow a hybrid at home can lead to unpredictable results. Instead of the expected beautiful plants, very strange specimens can grow.
On the contrary, varietal tomatoes produce seeds that retain the characteristics of the variety.
If you don't know, hybrids are designated by the symbol F1 after the name, for example, "Verlioka F1". Varieties have only a name without additional symbols.
Beautiful bush
To collect seeds, choose the most beautiful plant - with the largest number of brushes and fruits, without signs of disease and not affected by pests.
When choosing a brush, do the same: give preference to the most successful one.
It is not necessary to choose the largest tomato. Sometimes in one bunch one tomato significantly exceeds the others in size, while the others look small and underdeveloped. So it is better not to touch it. It is better to choose a bunch where the tomatoes are smaller in size, but they are even and approximately the same.
The right brush
To obtain seeds, it is better to use tomatoes from the second brush.
Indeed, the first brush often turns out to be unsuccessful, since it suffers when transplanting seedlings to a permanent place and develops slowly.
The second brush, on the contrary, grows in optimal conditions: summer is in full swing, and the plant has already grown strong. Therefore, high-quality fruits are formed in this brush. It is from this brush that tomatoes should be collected, choosing the most beautiful ones.
