A common reason for a serious drop in eggplant yield is improper watering of this plant.

The culture is heat-loving, so low-temperature liquid can cause serious harm to it.

Unfortunately, many summer residents forget about this and often water eggplants with cold water directly from a hose.

The consequences of this oversight are very sad.

How to water eggplants so as not to lose the harvest? Important information on this matter was shared by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh.

How to water eggplants

As mentioned above, low temperature water is not suitable for the procedure.

Due to “cold” watering, the crop will begin to grow and develop very slowly.

And the summer resident will be seriously lucky if the matter is limited to this consequence.

It is possible that a more serious problem will make itself known: a sharp deterioration in the condition of the roots. As a result, the plant may simply die.

To avoid this, water the eggplants only with warm water. The temperature of the liquid should be 22-25 degrees.

It is advisable to perform the procedure twice a week in the evening hours. Each plant should receive approximately 1.5 liters of water.

But always consider the weather. Prolonged precipitation indicates the need to make watering less frequent, or even temporarily abandon it.

During hot periods, eggplants, on the contrary, need more frequent watering.
