Choose the right variety. The right seeds are the key to a high yield. The choice should be made on seed material adapted to the planting region.
Disinfection and germination of seeds before planting. Throwing seeds directly into the soil is unwise.
First, you should disinfect the planting material using potassium permanganate or purchased disinfectants.
The next step is to germinate the seeds in a moist environment until they sprout.
Planting time. Late and mid-late varieties are planted for seedlings in the third ten days of February, and early and mid-early varieties begin to be planted in March.
The seedlings are planted in a permanent place when the air temperature at night is above 15 degrees and does not drop below.
Individual container for each seedling bush. Pepper bushes do not like crowding. Let the plantings take up a lot of space, but the seedlings will develop well.
Maintaining the watering regime and optimal soil moisture for seedlings. Watering should be abundant but rare.
Humidity cannot fall below 60-65%. Nitrogen fertilizers are recommended once every two weeks.
The correct choice of site for planting seedlings.
The sunny side of the plot is the best option. And if you make high beds, the soil will be warm.
Selection of useful neighbors. Neighborhood with fragrant herbs, onions, garlic will provide additional protection from insects.
Special care for planted seedlings:
- watering with warm water heated by the sun;
- hilling up the bushes after watering to allow oxygen to reach the roots.
Regular fertilization with organic fertilizers, once every 10-12 days.
Garter. Even the strongest pepper bush will not support the weight of ripe fruits. Tying the plant to a support will allow the pepper to grow more ovaries.
