Not only summer residents who grow cabbage are not averse to eating its juicy leaves, but also a variety of parasites.

For example, slugs and snails are often seen in beds with this vegetable.

You shouldn't be fooled by their slowness and deceptive harmlessness: these voracious pests can cause serious damage to cabbage, gnawing holes and entire furrows on the leaves of this crop.

Fortunately, there are many folk methods that help experienced farmers cope with the scourge of snails and slugs on cabbage.

1. So, you can get some mustard powder to sprinkle on the ground near this crop. Mustard can be replaced with crushed eggshells.

2. Another equally popular option is to remove the lower leaves – this way you deprive the pests of a “springboard” by which they climb onto the head of cabbage from the ground. Some farmers prefer to construct a so-called “collar” that covers the lower part of the head of cabbage.

3. An effective remedy is also an infusion of hot pepper - it is used to spray the soil in the garden.

4. Finally, if you have ammonia at your disposal, you can make a solution by adding 50 ml of ammonia to 5-6 liters of water. Pour it over the cabbage, and when the slugs crawl out of the heads of cabbage and the ground, repeat the procedure.
