There are several rules for picking cucumbers, which determine how well and how long the harvest will be stored.
Not all gardeners know about this, and therefore are surprised why juicy and elastic vegetables wither so quickly.
Firstly, cucumbers are not harvested after watering.
Secondly, cucumbers are not harvested after rain or dew.
Thirdly, cucumbers are not picked during the day.
The best time to harvest is considered to be early morning or evening, after sunset.
1. Cucumbers can only be cut, not plucked, as this can damage the vines.
2. The harvest is stored in the shade, covered with a clean cloth, so that the cucumbers do not wither.
3. The size of cucumbers depends on the variety, but in any case, the harvest should be collected at least once every 2-3 days, otherwise the fruits will overgrow.
4. You can’t leave “seed” cucumbers – they overripen and take away the plant’s strength.
It is also important to remember that it is useless to leave hybrids for seeds.
