On insufficiently sunny days in March, seedlings may begin to grow in height, stretch out, and then you can’t really count on a harvest.
It has been noted that sometimes the problem cannot be solved even with additional lighting.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer, told us how to feed the seedlings so that they grow in width, and not just upwards.
Folk developments in dacha circles are roughly like dietary supplements in medicine. No one really trusts them, but everyone is ready to try them, counting on luck.
If the seedlings begin to stretch, people recommend watering the shoots with banana-iodine fertilizer.
It is believed that such a composition will prevent stretching even in poor lighting conditions and will not cause harm.
1. Take a banana peel (1 piece), chop finely and pour one liter of water over it.
2. It should be infused for three days, after which one drop of iodine is added to the infusion.
3. Mix and use for watering at a rate of no more than 1-2 spoons per root.
It is believed that due to the presence of magnesium, calcium and phosphorus in the peel in combination with iodine, it is possible to prevent the elongation of stems and weakening of young plants even in conditions of poor lighting.
Earlier we told you how to feed carrots so that they are sweet and crunchy.
