Favorable neighborhood in the beds not only allows you to preserve the fertile properties of the soil, but also to avoid other troubles.

Supporters of this method claim that this way you can even get a richer harvest.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told us which plants should be planted nearby.

There is no secret. The fact is that individual vegetable crops can produce a better harvest if they grow next to each other.

Peas, pumpkin and corn

You need to plan the bed in such a way that these three are as close to each other as possible.

In this case, the peas will saturate the soil with nitrogen, the corn will serve as support, and the pumpkin will not allow weeds to grow.

Onions and carrots

Onions contain a substance called allicin, which acts as an insecticide and fungicide.

Thanks to this, the tandem is protected from some pests.

Tomatoes and basil

They have the same watering requirements, but the main thing is that basil repels pests, and the tomatoes also have a richer taste.

Beans, bell peppers and eggplants

In this case, beans will scare away the Bulgarian beetle from the nightshade crops, which may migrate if the potato bed is treated.

Otherwise, the growing conditions for these plants are not very different.

Earlier we told you that you can sow seedlings now.
