It is known to all that healthy seedlings can be grown only by taking all precautions. To do this, you need to disinfect both the soil with containers for seedlings and the seeds themselves.

Potassium permanganate is often mentioned in advice, but summer residents are frightened by the need to adhere to the dosage.

How to disinfect

You will need hot water at a temperature of 48-50 degrees Celsius.

It will be easier to place the seeds in a gauze bag and immerse them in water for 20 minutes.

The seeds are then taken out, placed in cold water and allowed to dry.

For crops such as beets, carrots and cabbage, disinfection in hot water serves as a preventative measure against phomosis.

The water temperature in this case should be 40-45 degrees, and the seed material should be kept there for about 30 minutes.

You can fill a thermos with water at a temperature of 50-60 degrees Celsius and place the seeds inside for 30-40 minutes.

Then they need to be dried, after which you can start sowing.

Against infections

But summer residents are advised to treat viral, bacterial and fungal infections using a 1% solution of potassium permanganate (for 15-20 minutes).
