Snails and slugs are known for their sluggishness. But gardeners are amazed at how quickly these oafs spoil or destroy crops.

It is possible to fight pests. Many people start the fight, oddly enough, in the fall and continue in the spring.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to avoid the appearance of snails and slugs on the site.

The only thing that remains relatively safe from plantings is the berries and fruits on bushes and trees.

What to do

First, plan your plantings carefully. Plants should not grow too densely and thickly. Gastropod pests will feel comfortable in the shade.

Secondly, thin out the seedlings regularly to avoid creating temptations for snails and slugs.

Thirdly, sprinkle the paths with wood ash. You don’t even have to sift it – slugs and snails are afraid of rough surfaces and objects.

Fourthly, from folk methods you can use hot pepper varieties against pests.

You might as well sprinkle your garden paths with tobacco ash.

Fifthly, to prevent pests from appearing in the beds after sunset, treat the plantings in the evening with a vinegar solution.

To prepare it, dissolve 100 ml of vinegar in 10 liters of water. The treatments are carried out after sunset.
