What plants and how to feed with infusion with bread: every gardener should know about such feeding

Bushes of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants, strawberries and flowers in the garden can be fed with fertilizers with bread.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about bread fertilizing.

Benefits of feeding with bread

Fertilizing with bread is especially necessary when buds, flowers and fruits grow on plants at the same time.

This type of feeding contains:

• nitrogen (N), it promotes the growth of green leaves;

• potassium (K), phosphorus (P), they enrich the soil, help the setting and growth of fruits;

• protein and aminocarbolic acids, they improve the taste of vegetables.

Important! Fertilizing with bread infusion will not replace organic and mineral fertilizers.

The infusion promotes active reproduction of microbacteria in the soil and enriches the soil.

Vegetables ripen faster, they are ecologically clean. There are more buds, less empty flowers.

Fertilizer makes depleted soil more fertile.

If you add more cow dung and compost to the soil, they will rot faster due to the fertilization with bread infusion.

Fertilizer strengthens the bushes. Unlike yeast, which absorbs calcium and potassium from the soil, bread infusion does almost nothing.

How to make top dressing

You should collect the remains of rye bread and its crusts.

Attention! Black bread fertilizer slightly increases the acidity of the soil, because of this, plants are also fertilized with ash, which, on the contrary, reduces acidity.

Cut the bread into small bars of 4 square cm. Usually these bars of bread fill two thirds of the bucket.

Then pour in clean water so that the bread remains under water. Then place a small lid on top, which is smaller in diameter than the upper diameter of the bucket. Put some weight on the lid.

Then the bucket is placed in a warm room, after some time the mixture will start to ferment. But do not forget that the fermented mixture smells unpleasant.

After a week, inspect the bucket; if foam stops appearing on top, then the mixture has fermented.

Then squeeze the bread, strain, and use the liquid. Bread can be added to compost, and 1 part of the liquid is added to 10 parts of water and used. When feeding, pour 1-1.5 liters of liquid under one plant.

Adviсe

Fertilize the bushes after abundant watering with clean, settled water, so that all the nutrients from the liquid reach the roots faster.

In order for the yeast liquid to start working, fertilize in warm weather, the soil must be warm and not frozen.

Since liquid with black bread can increase the acidity of the soil, wood ash is scattered on the ground along with the fertilizer.

Fertilize in the morning or evening, choosing a day without rain, every 2 weeks.
