22.12.2023 17:25

Sowing season is just around the corner, and some gardeners who love early harvests are already preparing seeds of cultivated plants for sowing.

Modern technologies allow growing seedlings as early as January. But it will be important to take into account the recommendations of the lunar calendar to eliminate all unfavorable factors.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told when it is possible to start sowing eggplant seeds for seedlings.

In addition to the condition of the soil, temperature, watering and lighting, the quality of seedlings is influenced by the Moon.

The phases of the Moon affect the movement of sap, growth and development of plants. Accordingly, the future harvest depends on this.

When to sow: favorable days

You can start sowing eggplant seeds in January.

To do this, it is better to plan work for January 14, 15, 18-20, 23 and 24.

Unfavorable days

But sowing on January 11, 25 and 27, if you believe the recommendations of the lunar calendar, will not lead to anything good.

An important point

In addition, in order to sow seeds on the right day, you need to accurately calculate the next steps, that is, planting seedlings in the ground or greenhouse.

It is not difficult to calculate the day. You need to add up the days for preparing the seeds for sowing, the time for seed germination and the period of seedling growth.

The resulting figure should be subtracted from the recommended date for transplanting mature seedlings. If the figure is 40, and the seedlings need to be planted in the 20th of May, then there is no point in starting sowing before the first ten days of April.

It is important to take into account the climatic features of the region, otherwise the plant will overstay its welcome in the pot and the idea will not end well.

Previously, we talked about which containers are not suitable for growing seedlings.
