First of all, it is important to remember that the weather must be dry for several days: bringing wet plant material to the site is quite risky.
Try to choose leaves that have completely dried out. Such leaves have completely changed their color and structure.
Inspect the plant material for disease. Also, don't be lazy and inspect the tree. If its health is in doubt, then you shouldn't collect the leaves.
Remember that oak leaves can increase the acidity of the soil. But lingonberries will decompose for a long time, so they are an excellent option for creating shelters.
