The simplest fertilizers for violets: they will remain lush and bright even in the winter cold

Violets don’t need much to be “productive”: just lighting, regular watering and the simplest feeding.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about three options for fertilizing violets.

An option that will suit even lazy gardeners is mineral complex fertilizers.

All you need to do when using them is to follow the instructions exactly. As a rule, mineral fertilizers should be applied once a month in winter, while the rest of the time the interval between feedings is 2 weeks.

In addition, wood ash, which contains potassium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, manganese and other elements, will help the gardener in this situation.

In addition to additional nutrition, by adding ash you will also be able to reduce the acidity of the soil. Preparing the fertilizer is simple - you just need to infuse a tablespoon of ash in a liter of warm water.

And a piece of advice for those who don’t have access to ash, but don’t want to spend money on store-bought fertilizers – used tea leaves (without additives).

Please note: only pre-dried tea leaves can be added to the soil.

Earlier we talked about why violet leaves dry out .
