It doesn’t wither, doesn’t rot, and doesn’t even crack – isn’t this the dream of every summer resident who has stored cabbage?

But in some cases the dream remains just a dream, and the culprit is unsuitable conditions for the vegetable or mistakes made by gardeners when storing cabbage.

That's why we decided to collect for you all the relevant information and useful tips on storing cabbage.

First, be sure to leave 2-3 upper covering leaves on the heads of cabbage, which are needed to protect the cabbage from moisture loss, and 2 cm of the stalk - for the same purposes, and also to protect supplies from pathogens.

Secondly, do not leave cabbage in cramped rooms with dry air, because even in this cut state, cabbage continues to breathe.

Thirdly, a certain temperature and humidity must be maintained in the place where the cabbage is stored. Optimal temperature values are from +1 to -1 degrees, humidity - around 90-95%.

Fourthly, do not store cabbage in bulk, in too thick a layer, in bags that do not allow air to pass through.

Try to form small stacks from the heads of cabbage, turning the stalk in different directions (up or down) for better ventilation of the “structures”.
