It would seem that you are doing everything right – you chose a ripe avocado, removed the pit, washed and dried the bean, and then stuck it into the ground with the pointed end up.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained what could be the reason for such “bad behavior” of avocado.
First, you should make sure that 30-60 days have passed since the moment of “planting” - as a rule, the seeds begin to sprout during this period of time.
If the specified period has long passed and the sprouts have not sprouted, you may have used an unripe avocado for planting.
If you are sure of the ripeness of the fruit used, take a closer look at the soil mixture used to grow the avocado. If it was too dry, the weak sprouts simply could not break through such soil, so after planting, do not forget about the need to water the avocado.
Finally, the tree may have stopped growing due to a lack of microelements and minerals. Don't know which fertilizer to choose to eliminate this problem?
Pay attention to the formulations intended for citrus fruits - they contain everything necessary for an exotic plant.
However, if we remind you that it is almost impossible to get fruit from an avocado grown from a seed, maybe you won’t be so sad that the idea turned into a failure?
