Cabbage is one of the crops that is most often attacked by pests.
Therefore, it is important to learn how to protect the vegetable.
If this is not done, the likelihood of harvesting may be called into question, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer.
First of all, it is worth remembering that in "clean" beds, where there are no weeds, pests appear much less often. Therefore, it is worth setting yourself up for regular weeding.
After you have removed the weeds, you should not leave them on the plot: try to find a worthy use for them immediately. Regularly evaluate the cabbage leaves: it is quite possible that you will notice pests. More precisely, we are talking about their larvae and eggs.
In order to reduce the concentration of pests of any kind, the cabbage plot is "closed" along the perimeter with calendula plantings. This plant scares away many "uninvited guests".
Nasturtium, which is rarely seen in plots, has a similar effect. Marigolds are especially popular, and they really give an excellent result.
You can plant aromatic greens right next to the cabbage. It is worth paying attention to cilantro and parsley. Mint, sage and dill will also be useful.
