In order for the raspberry to be able to produce a decent harvest again next year or even improve its quality, it is important to provide the plant with proper care.

Typically, it consists of good watering and adding nutrients.

Also, Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", a landscape designer and agronomist, advises not to forget about pruning.

With its help, you can truly renew the bush, breathing new strength into it.

How to prune a plant correctly?

First of all, it is worth focusing on mature bushes whose "growth" has exceeded a hundred centimeters. All length that exceeds this figure should be removed.

Then we pay attention to the shoots. If they are not removed, the raspberry patch will become spontaneous. Instead of concentrating on sweet and tasty berries, the raspberry will begin to feed the young shoots. Therefore, they should be removed.

Old branches and those that have lost their attractive appearance should also be removed. If some of the raspberries are affected by diseases, we remove them too.

New small branches should be removed, leaving only large and healthy ones.
